DESCRIPTION
Organic Anise or Aniseed. Native to the Middle East and is a close relative of Fennel, Caraway and Cumin. Aniseed spice consists of small oval seeds, aromatic with a strong fresh, bitter/sweet flavour. Aniseed is known to have digestive properties. It is used for flavouring sweets, cough lozenges and to flavour some aperitifs and sprits. Sometimes eaten on its own or blended with nuts and/or spices and served as after dinner mint or a mouth/breath freshener.
